Identify and confirm the source of moisture — this must be addressed before any repair is carried out, or the problem will simply recur. Assess the extent of the damage   in some cases only a section of the floor is affected and a partial board replacement is possible. Gaps Between Floorboards

Gaps appearing between laminate or wooden floor boards are typically caused by one of two things — the floor contracting during periods of low humidity and cold weather, or the loss of expansion gap management during installation. In some cases gaps are normal seasonal movement that closes again in warmer, more humid conditions. In other cases they indicate a problem that needs professional attention. Board replacement
