— Transform Ordinary Walls Into Extraordinary Interiors

Wall Panel Installation

If flooring sets the foundation of a beautiful interior and skirting delivers the finishing edge — wall panels are the element that truly elevates a space from comfortable to extraordinary. A beautifully installed fluted wall panel on a feature wall, a textured TV wall that anchors a living room, a headboard wall panel that transforms a bedroom into a luxury retreat — these are the design moments that guests notice, that photographs capture, and that make a home feel genuinely special.

Wall paneling has become one of the most sought-after interior design trends in Pakistan’s premium residential and commercial market — and for good reason. Done well, it adds architectural depth, visual interest, texture, and a sense of craftsmanship that paint and wallpaper simply cannot match.

At Samaar Skirting, we manufacture, supply, and professionally install wall panels across Lahore and Pakistan. Our installation team brings the same precision and care to wall panel fitting that we apply to every other service we offer — because we understand that a wall panel installation is only as beautiful as the quality of the workmanship behind it.

Our Wall Panel Installation Process

Every wall panel installation we carry out follows a structured, professional process

Wall panel installation begins not with a tool but with a plan. Before any panel is fixed, our installation team — working from the design agreed during your free design consultation — plans the layout in detail:

  • Panel coverage area — which walls, what height, where panels start and stop
  • Feature wall positioning — ensuring the panel is centered correctly on the focal point of the room, whether that is a bed, sofa, fireplace, or TV
  • Panel orientation — vertical fluting is the most common orientation but horizontal orientation can work powerfully in specific design contexts. We advise on the right orientation for your space
  • Join planning — for large wall areas requiring multiple panel boards, join points are planned to fall in the least visible positions while maintaining pattern continuity across the full surface
  • Edge finishing — how the panel edges terminate at wall corners, ceiling lines, floor edges, and adjacent wall surfaces is planned before installation begins
  • Lighting integration — for installations where integrated lighting — recessed strips, spotlights, or LED backlighting — is part of the design, lighting positioning and routing is planned as part of the overall layout

The wall surface must be properly assessed and prepared before panels are fixed:

  • Flatness check — significantly uneven walls can prevent panels from sitting flush, creating an unacceptable wavy appearance in the finished installation. Our team identifies any wall flatness issues and advises on remedial plastering or leveling required before panels are fitted
  • Moisture check — moisture in the wall behind panels can cause warping, delamination, and mould growth over time. We check for wall moisture — particularly on external walls — and advise on appropriate treatment before installation
  • Surface cleaning — wall surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust, loose paint, grease, or other contamination that would prevent adhesive from bonding correctly

Paint finish assessment — some paint finishes — particularly very smooth, low-grip surfaces — may require light sanding or a bonding primer before panel adhesive is applied

Panels are measured and cut precisely before installation:

  • Each panel is measured and marked individually — accounting for any variation in wall height, width, or squareness
  • Cuts are made using appropriate tools to ensure clean, chip-free edges — particularly important for fluted panels where a torn or rough cut edge would be highly visible
  • Cut edges that will remain visible — at panel tops, sides, or around doorframes and windows — are finished smoothly and, where required, capped with edge trim profiles
  • Any cutouts required for electrical sockets, switches, or light fittings are measured and cut precisely before the panel is fixed to the wall

Wall panels are fixed to the wall surface using the appropriate method for the panel type and wall construction:

Adhesive Fixing The primary fixing method for most wall panel installations. High-quality panel adhesive — appropriate for the specific panel material and wall surface — is applied to the back of the panel in a consistent pattern that ensures full, even contact across the panel surface. Each panel is pressed firmly into position and held — or supported — until the adhesive has achieved sufficient grip.

Mechanical Fixing For heavier panel types or wall surfaces where adhesive alone is not sufficient — such as very smooth tiles or surfaces with limited adhesive grip — mechanical fixings are used in addition to or instead of adhesive. All fixings are placed at planned positions to minimize visibility in the finished installation.

Clip & Track Systems Some panel systems use a clip-and-track fixing method — a track is fixed to the wall and panels clip onto it. This method allows panels to be removed and refitted if required and is particularly useful in commercial environments where wall access or reconfiguration may be needed in future.

As each panel is fixed, our team checks and confirms:

  • Vertical alignment — fluted panels in particular must be perfectly plumb. A panel that is even slightly off vertical creates a visually disturbing effect that is immediately obvious, especially over large wall areas
  • Horizontal consistency — where panels are installed at a specific height — wainscoting, feature wall panels with a defined top line — the top edge of each panel is checked against a level line to ensure perfect horizontal consistency across the full wall

Join alignment — at points where two panels meet, flute alignment across the join is checked carefully to ensure the pattern continues seamlessly. Misaligned flutes at panel joins are one of the most common signs of poor wall panel installation

The edges and corners of a wall panel installation are where quality workmanship is most visible:

  • Internal corners — where a panel meets an adjacent wall at an internal corner, the junction is finished cleanly — either with a mitred return, a corner trim profile, or a carefully fitted edge cap depending on the design
  • External corners — external corners receive appropriate corner trim profiles that protect the panel edge and deliver a clean, sharp junction
  • Top edge finishing — the top edge of the panel installation is finished with an appropriate cap trim, shadow line, or moulding that seals the top of the panel and delivers a clean termination line
  • Bottom edge finishing — at floor level, panel edges are typically covered by skirting. Where skirting is part of the project, it is fitted after the wall panels to cover the bottom panel edge cleanly

Around doorframes & windows — panels that terminate at doorframe or window architrave edges are cut and finished precisely to sit cleanly against the existing joinery without visible gaps

Once all panels are fixed and all edges finished, our team conducts a thorough inspection of the complete installation:

  • Every panel is checked for secure fixing — no movement, no hollow spots, no lifting edges
  • All vertical and horizontal alignments are confirmed
  • All joins and edge finishes are inspected for quality and consistency
  • All adhesive residue on panel surfaces, adjacent walls, floors, and ceiling is cleaned away carefully
  • The installation area is left clean and tidy

We walk through the completed wall panel installation with you — pointing out design features, explaining care and maintenance, and addressing any questions before our team leaves your site.

Common Measurement Mistakes We Prevent

Many people measure their rooms without accounting for alcoves, bay windows, under-stair areas, and walk-in wardrobes. Our specialist measures every usable surface area — nothing is missed

Ordering without a wastage factor almost always results in a shortage mid-installation. Our estimates always include the correct wastage percentage for your specific flooring type and installation pattern.

Doorway transitions are often forgotten until installation day — when the installer asks for T-moulding or reducers that were never ordered. Our measurement visit identifies every transition point in advance.

Herringbone and diagonal flooring installations require a significantly higher wastage allowance than standard straight installations — sometimes up to 15% extra. Without accounting for this, customers regularly run short. Our specialist calculates pattern-specific wastage accurately

Every internal and external corner in a room affects skirting requirements — cut angles, corner pieces, and joining accessories all add to the linear footage needed. Our specialist counts every corner carefully.

Staircases are complex to measure and material requirements are often significantly underestimated by customers attempting self-measurement. Our specialist measures each stair tread, riser, and landing area individually.
